  • Heh, just got the monthly astrology highlights in my email.  We have entered Scorpio!

But I have to express amusement at something.  Below is the first paragraph of that email, and I'm amused because the older I get, the more that sounds like me.  ^_^

"Of all that's ever been written about Scorpio over the years, much of it -- no, most of it -- has been unfair, negative and worded so that those born under this Sun sign sound downright intimidating. It's as if simply getting to know them requires superhuman courage and a fully armed bodyguard. Well, we're about to put an end to all that nonsense. It's true that Scorpios are not for the faint of heart. They're not shallow, they won't be manipulated and they will never, ever 'settle' for less than what they really want. In the Scorpio mind, 'settling' equates with giving up -- and that's something else they'd never, ever do. Scorpios won't stop working toward a goal until they're convinced that it's impossible -- which takes some doing."

  • Sooo....the Robin Williams show.
    .
    .
    .
was hilarious!  My face hurt from laughing.  Which was a very good thing, cause I very nearly strangled my mother.  She neglected to mention that she is extremely terrified of heights.  And our seats were on a balcony.  She was able to sit and watch the show from somewhere else...just not where her seat was supposed to be.  It's good that she still got to see the show, cause it was fantastic.
At the time though...oh my god, my blood pressure was through the roof and I was furious.  I could not get her to just sit down, there was a clusterfuck with trying to get her a seat where she would be comfortable, I'm pretty sure the ushers were going to strangle both of us....*sigh*

It all worked out in the end sure, but I'm still kind of irritated with the whole thing.  When I said the seats were on the mezzanine, which is the first balcony....I fail to understand why she wouldn't have told me at that point that she was scared of heights.  I really don't understand it.  I originally bought those tickets in March, so it's not like she didn't have time to tell me.

  • Would that I could just snap my fingers and make whatever bothers my friends go away/get better.  I really think that would be a superpower that I would love to have.  I don't care about my own problems and issues when I see my friends upset in any way.  I just want to fix things for them, and I can't and I hate that I can't.
So I'll just sit on the sidelines and be a cheerleader when they need it (though not in those uniforms, cause I wouldn't inflict that sight on anyone), and help hold them up when they need it.

  • I've actually made some headway with trying to get caught up with studying.  My one coworker is just chomping at the bit because she wants to know interesting stuff, as well as riding my ass to get back to studying.  Before I picked the book back up, she would periodically try to give me a kick in the ass to get me focused.  Which didn't work until I decided to get cracking on it, of course.

The kicker about this:  the girl giving me a kick in the ass is a freaking Gemini.  I haven't really had good experiences with Geminis.  And this girl, while we generally get along, easily irritates my Scorpio self.  She's the one giving me kicks in the ass, but then turns around and sometimes can't focus on her job to save her life!  Mind you, this is sometimes.  Most of the time, she's just plain scatterbrained, and it drives me up the wall.  Gah!!!

In the meantime, I'm reading the section about the love connections and the various traits of male/female zodiac signs.  And I recognize people that I know in these.  I really do.  Virgo does have an annoying habit of nitpicking and nagging (trust me, I live with one.  though that is a parent/child relationship).  And every single Pisces woman I know in person, even though that might only be one, is married to an emotionally handicapped man.  Who also happens to be a Pisces.  Explain that one to me please.
Dawna, is that just a Pisces/Pisces thing?  Do they just not work well together?

And I know enough about you guys here to know that Pisces sounds exactly like Rachelle, and Aquarius sounds exactly like Dawna.  IRL, Libra sounds like Craig, but aside from a few things, Virgo does not sound like Becky.  But also sounds exactly like my mother.  O_o  Scorpio sounds quite a bit like me, Stef, and Gracie, but I could swear that Gracie has some Leo action going as well.  So do I, but she's got a more demonstrative thing going, but that could just be because she's 4. Granted, those are just the sun signs, haven't gotten to the other stuff yet.

Oy vey, so much information that it should be making my head spin.

About Me

  • Your idea of me is fabricated with materials you have borrowed from other people and from yourself. What you think of me depends on what you think of yourself. Perhaps you create your idea of me out of material you would like to eliminate from your own idea of yourself. Perhaps your idea of me is a reflection of what other people think of you. Or perhaps what you think of me is simply what you think I think of you. -Thomas Merton
